At PhotoPlace Gallery, we believe photographers should retain full ownership and control of their creative work. Submission to a PhotoPlace Gallery exhibition does not transfer copyright or ownership of your images to the gallery.
You Retain Full Copyright
Photographers retain full copyright and all rights to their submitted images. Selection for a PhotoPlace Gallery exhibition does not grant PhotoPlace Gallery ownership of the work or the right to use it beyond the purposes described below.
How We Use Selected Images
If one or more of your images are selected for exhibition, you grant PhotoPlace Gallery a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use the selected image(s) solely for the following purposes:
- Reproduction in printed and digital exhibition catalogs
- Display on the PhotoPlace Gallery website and exhibition pages
- Promotion of current and future PhotoPlace Gallery exhibitions through social media, email newsletters, press materials, and other gallery-related communications, with credit provided to the photographer whenever feasible
This limited license allows us to celebrate and promote the exhibition and the artists involved. It does not permit PhotoPlace Gallery to sell, license, or otherwise commercially exploit your images without your explicit written permission.
Photographer Responsibilities
Photographers are solely responsible for the content of their submitted images. By submitting work, you affirm that:
- You own the rights to the images submitted.
- The work is your own original creation.
- You have obtained any necessary permissions or model releases for recognizable individuals depicted in the photographs.
- The submitted work does not knowingly infringe upon the intellectual property rights of others.
Revoking Permission
You may revoke permission for future promotional use of your selected images at any time by providing written notice to PhotoPlace Gallery. Please note that revocation cannot undo uses already in circulation, including printed catalogs, published exhibition pages, social media posts, email campaigns, press materials, or other materials produced prior to the request.
In keeping with PhotoPlace Gallery's commitment to maintaining a permanent archive of past exhibitions, exhibition records and associated exhibition webpages may remain available as part of the historical documentation of the gallery's programming.
Agreement to These Terms
Photographers acknowledge and agree to these terms when creating a PhotoPlace Gallery account and submitting images for exhibition consideration.
We are grateful for the trust artists place in us and remain committed to honoring both their creative rights and their contributions to our exhibitions.
